JACKSON, Wyoming - July 25, 1999 - Mountain States Consulting (MSC) announces the release of MSC-LIMS Report Viewer, an optional companion product to MSC-LIMS. The Report Viewer allows anyone to view, navigate, and print any 'snapshot' MSC-LIMS report, without purchasing a full MSC-LIMS license.
All MSC-LIMS system reports and user-defined reports can be saved in a report snapshot file, which contains a full-fidelity copy of each page of a report and preserves the report's two-dimensional layout, graphics, and other embedded objects. The new MSC-LIMS Report Viewer is a good solution for sites where users require only occasional read-only access to LIMS data. For these cases, the combination of report snapshots and the MSC-LIMS Report Viewer offer a good alternative to purchasing additional MSC-LIMS licenses.
The MSC-LIMS Report Viewer is a stand-alone executable program used to view and print a report snapshot. Using report snapshots, reports can be emailed or posted to a file server to distribute LIMS data that is pre-approved by lab personnel. MSC-LIMS provides single-sample and batch sample login, results entry by sample and analyte, user-defined analysis and QC result types, sample tracking, scheduling, and warning, customer billing, user-defined reports, control charts, method development, instrument and procedure lists and calendars, and employee training and certification records. MSC-LIMS also includes barcoding capabilities, data access security roles, and audit trail.
Laboratories experiencing increased sample processing volume and burdened by paper-based records management will find that MSC-LIMS helps prevent lost or expired samples and improves lab productivity by providing efficient report, chart, statistics, and invoice generation.
MSC-LIMS version 2.0 was developed using Microsoft's Access® 97 Relational Database Management System for Windows. Minimum system requirements are a Pentium 166 MHz PC, 32MB RAM, SVGA monitor and Windows 95/98/NT. MSC-LIMS is available in single- and multi-user versions. Base system includes a single user license with barcode printer, laser scanner and one year technical support and software updates.
